Members of the Vincentian Family Ireland meet Fr. Tomas Mavric Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission and executive President of the Worldwide Vincentian Family at the 2nd Convocation of the International Vincentian Family in Rome. The theme for the Convocation , ‘Keep the fires burning’ set our hearts on fire and sparked within us the desire to deepen our sense of commitment to serving Christ in our poor and suffering brothers and sisters today.
We entered into many moments of dialogue listening and sharing to each other and asking the Holy Spirit to move within and among us to discover and discern what must we do as Vincentians in our world today?
The members also attended the Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica on the 8th World day of Prayer for the poor a day which encourages the Church to step outside its walls and engage with poverty in its many forms in todays world. This is our challenge as Vincentians too.
