Visit of Fr. Rolando Limjoco CM

Sub Director of the International Association of the Miraculous Medal (AMM) and Mr. Kevin Eguia, executive Secretary of the International AMM

PETER’S CHURCH PHIBSBOROUGH; MONDAY 16TH OCTOBER 2023

Fr. Rolando and Kevin met with the Phibsborough group of the AMM at their monthly gathering. There was an excellent attendance, some 20 members. We are very grateful for the presence of Sr. Claire Mc Kiernan DC, Co-ordinator of the Vincentian Family Council in Ireland at our meeting. Unfortunately  no members from Belfast or Ballyfermot were able to attend this ‘extraordinary’ gathering. Furthermore, because of Visa difficulties, Fr. Rolando and Kevin were unable to visit the AMM group in Belfast. There were, however, thanks to Sr. Anne O’ Neill DC, afforded a visit to Virgo Potens in Henrietta Street on Tuesday 17th  October and were suitably impressed.

Proceedings got underway on Monday 16th October after the regular Monday 7pm Mass in St. Peter’s. Fr. Eamon Flanagan CM, spiritual director of the St. Peter’s group, guided the meeting, while Fr. Colm Mc Adam CM, National Director set out an account of where the AMM is at in 2023.

After listening to everyone, Fr. Rolando offered 4 suggestions for us going forward:

  1. Imitation of the virtues of our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, not just engaging in prayer devotion to her
  2. Greater collaboration with the 9 branches of the Vincentian Family
  3. New ways of reaching out to people in poverty
  4. Sharing of testimonies resulting from devotion to our Lady of the Miraculous Medal e.g. healings of mind, body and spirit.

The meeting concluded with refreshments in the Vincentian’s dining room.
